The use of Camphor in traditional medicine dates back to 600 A.D. in ancient Sumatra, India, and China. Referred to as “Moon Powder” in Ayurvedic texts, Camphor Crystals are the purified essence from the wood of the Cinnamomum Camphora tree, which often grows to be nearly a thousand years old. Traditionally, the wood is steamed to extract the raw oil, which is then refined to separate the oil, water, and crystalline solids.

Renowned for its pain-relieving qualities, Camphor’s therapeutic effect works mainly by stimulating nerve endings in the skin and mucous membranes. This increases blood flow and helps to reduce inflammation, irritation, itching, and redness. As a refreshing side effect, it creates a lightly cooling sensation wherever it is applied.

Although all skin types can benefit from Camphor, its exceptionally soothing properties are particularly effective for sensitive, distressed, or acne-prone complexions. It helps calm red, inflamed areas and balance your skin so that it looks and feels beautifully renewed.
